This summer (a huge update)...

  • Nate celebrated his first Father's Day. (Jett got him some Brazilian treats and a really cute card.)
 Father's Day, 2011 (Jett, 5 months)
  •  We spent some time in our backyard BBQing and pushing Jett in his new swing.
  • We discovered a huge beehive inside one of the closet doors on our back porch.  We noticed tons of bees around and we couldn't really go outside for a while until Nate took care of it.
Safety first! Nate getting ready to take care of the beehive! (This suit actually came from some group's presentation in one of his business classes... kinda funny/weird)
  • Jett went swimming for the first time on the 4th of July (he loved it). We went to seven peaks to celebrate the 4th with a few siblings; it rained almost all day though.

  •  Jett learned to sit-up on his own at about 6 months.  (He practiced outside and ate a lot of grass, too.)
  •  Jett and I spent a whole lot of time together with just the two of us.  Nate started a full-time finance internship at GE Capital and continued school full-time.  We saw him really late on weeknights and on the weekends.  (I will be so happy when he's done next year!)

  • In July, Nate and I celebrated 4 years of marriage.  I also turned 25.  That week was pretty crazy because Nate was quitting one job and trying to start the next, so we celebrated both events later on in the month when things calmed down a bit.  We went to dinner at a Thai place we like in downtown. Then we stayed the night at the Little America .

  • We went to Ephraim to meet up with my family on the 24th of July weekend. We went to the Larson reunion and met some of my extended family from Wisconsin.  (We made pit stops along the way when Jett was tired of being in a car seat.)

  • Jett had to go to Primary Children's to get some testing done, but everything turned out okay.  He didn't even cry during any of it (I did)-- he's a brave boy.  He picked out a little stuffed rabbit at the end.
  • We went down to Highland one weekend to the Healey family reunion, where Jett met his great-grandparents for the first time.  (We took Jett to see the horses there too.)

  • Sheldon drove up from BYU for family dinner over labor day weekend.

  • We drove to St. George to meet up with Nate's parents who were there for a wedding.  We swam, relaxed, and went out to dinner with his grandparents.

  • College football season started and Nate introduced Jett to his home-made root beer

And I'm sure a lot of other stuff happened, but that's about all the blogging I can handle!
